Our school is very fortunate with the technology that we have. Sometimes we don't have access to all the technology that is in our school which is challenging as a teacher.
I find that while most schools do have access to technology, a lot of teachers aren't proactive enough about using it. There was a sign out sheet for two COWs (computers on wheels) at the last middle school I was at. I signed them out at least once a week; the books were always empty. The librarians admitted there wasn't a high enough demand, or else they could have gotten two more carts for the next year, making computers (nice laptops!!) available to even more classes throughout the school at a time. I asked around more and some teachers didn't even know the sign out process in the first place!!! I find that teachers (more than technology) are often at fault to just NOT taking advantage of the resources that are there in the first place before bickering about wanting more. It's the DEMAND; not the SUPPLY that is holding a lot of schools back at large. eh? eh? (blogging is meant to spurr some good arguments, and I will do my best to be a conscientious devil's advocate, but it won't always be 100% nice ;P)
